Im not planning to make a news channel out of this blog, but now, I have to make an exception. Because there are great news for every Oathmark fan! Joe McCullough announced on his blog, that halflings arrived to the Marches!
They dont get a full-sized army list, but at least (fitting to their size) a half-sized one:
- Halfling Adventurer (basically a prince)
- Halfling Captain (without Magic Items)
- Halfling Champion (without Magic Items)
- Halfling Spellcaster (with a maximum level of 3, but own spells!)
- Halfling Soldier
- Halfling Spearman
- Halfling Archer
- Halfling Border Scout (a Nimble unit with sling)
- Halfling Light Catapult
- Hounds (with the maximum size of 5 hounds/unit)
Thier general attributes are:
- Low activation (because they are not really really skilled soldiers)
- Slow movement (you know, short legs...)
- Low fight and shoot values (their simply too small I guess)
- Courage (they dont usually go to battle, but if they do, they defend something important)
- Shield (without carrying a shield, to represent their ability to evade, but not all units get it)
They also got some extras:
- Halfling Bow (with slightly reduced range)
- 5 spells (are pretty easy to cast, and some of them seems to be really useful)
- And of course the neccesary terrain list.
I recommend to check out the post of Joe McCullough and the PDF of the rules (You can find the link in the original post, I dont link it here, because I dont want to steal any clicks from the author), there are some beautiful pictures (with Mark Copplestone sculpts)!
I am very pleased by this. TTCombat produce a Halfling army set as well, so tempting...
ReplyDeleteWargames Atlantic has a plastic halfling set, and its pretty cheap.
DeleteOh now you've gone and done it!
